This year, after fundraising for Light the Night with our family for many years, we are proud to take the lead as candidates for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission. Our dedicated team has set a goal of $100,000. 

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Our candidate team is particularly passionate about patient education and support and will be representing this area of LLS during our campaign.  LLS works tirelessly to provide hope, guidance, education, and support when it’s needed most, so no one faces cancer alone. Its Clinical Trial Support Center (CTSC) helps take this burden off patients and families, and in 2021, LLS’s CTSC placed 21 percent of patients into a clinical trial – significantly higher than the national average enrollment rate of 5-8 percent!

We are participating in this campaign in honor of Olivia’s childhood battle with lymphoma and for all children suffering from cancer. In addition, we have now lost two grandparents to cancer who should have had many more years with us. With your support, we believe we will see an end to this disease in our lifetime. Our campaign will provide support to the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. We know that with your help, we can reach our goal and make a direct impact in the fight against blood cancers.
